Um dos lugares mais especiais que já visitamos! Eu e Larissa tivemos a alegria de conhecer o Santuário Nacional de São José de Anchieta, localizado na bela cidade de Anchieta, no litoral sul do Espírito Santo. Mais do que um ponto turístico, é um verdadeiro mergulho na história da evangelização do Brasil, da cultura indígena e da espiritualidade católica.
História viva entre Espanha e Brasil
O santuário homenageia São José de Anchieta, jesuíta nascido nas Ilhas Canárias, na Espanha, em 1534. Ainda jovem, sentiu-se chamado à vida religiosa e ingressou na Companhia de Jesus. Veio ao Brasil com apenas 19 anos, durante o período das grandes missões, com o intuito de evangelizar os povos indígenas. Anchieta não apenas aprendeu o tupi — uma das línguas indígenas mais faladas à época — como também escreveu a primeira gramática da língua tupi, considerada um marco na linguística do continente.
Além de missionário e catequista, foi dramaturgo, poeta e um grande diplomata na pacificação entre portugueses e indígenas. Sua atuação no Espírito Santo foi intensa, especialmente na então aldeia de Reritiba — onde hoje se encontra o santuário —, um dos centros mais importantes de sua missão evangelizadora.

Depois de visitar o espaço religioso, é possível dar uma caminhada na areia ou simplesmente contemplar o mar, o que deixa o passeio ainda mais completo.
