Visitors praise Projeto TAMAR Florianópolis for its dedicated staff and the educational value of learning about marine turtle conservation. The opportunity to witness feeding and releases is a highlight for many. While some reviews mention concerns about enclosure sizes, the overall sentiment is positive, with many appreciating the project's commitment to protecting sea turtles and the environment.
"It’s a DISGRACE!!! We went to Tamar Project in Regencia what you can see there is beyond horrible. It’s simply cruel! Two GIANT turtles alone and abandoned in super small pools with dirty water with NO POSSIBILITY TO EXIT. If you check the google reviews it’s obviously like this since more then 9 MONTHS. Tamar project has nothing to do with animal protection! SAD! SHAME ON YOU!"
Agnieszka
"It's a great place to visit if you are traveling with kids. Check the times that they'll feed and release the turtles in the beach, but be sure to be there 10-15 minutes prior to start to get a good spot. Be careful when going to the beach to see the release of the turtles, people will push you. We were expecting more of this place because of the reviews, but it was still a nice place to visit as a one time thing."

We learned about the 5 species they seek to conserve here in Brazil: the hawksbill turtle, the leatherback turtle, the green turtle, the loggerhead turtle, and the olive ridley turtle 🐢"
