Feast of Penha is the 3rd largest religious festival in Brazil with origins in the 16th century. During 8 days of celebration, one million people participate in the tributes to Nossa Senhora da Penha beginning on Easter Sunday, continuing until Monday of the following week.
In 2017 Prainha Park was the site of weekend-long 1st Annual Vila Vehla Jazz & Blues Festival. The Chocolate Festival attracts over 300,000 and Feast of the City celebrates the first arrival of Portuguese settlers to the State of Espirito Santo in 1535.
