What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Praia do Sossego is a beautiful, secluded beach offering stunning views of Rio de Janeiro, especially at sunset. Visitors praise its calm waters, ideal for families, and the peaceful atmosphere, though it can get crowded on hot summer days. While access involves a short trail, the reward is a serene escape.
"Beautiful secluded beach but very full of people on hot summer days. Absolutely gorgeous sunsets over Rio. There are some little barzinhos you can get caipirinhas at and you can rent chairs and umbrella if you want also. There were huge waves the day we went which was fun but you couldn’t relax in the water and had to be very careful of people on boogie boards and surf boards all fighting to be in the same small area of water. I would definitely go back, but if you’re looking for a peaceful quiet day this might not be the beach for you on a hot summer day.
Update: I went back on a calm day and it was absolutely amazing and perfect. Love it and have now gone back many more times."
