Praia de Costazul is a beautiful, long sandy beach with warm waters, popular for surfing and relaxation. Visitors appreciate the remodeled kiosks and scenic spots like the Pier do Emissário and Jardim de Alah. However, some areas, including the boardwalk and recreational facilities, are noted as being in poor condition, and the waves can be rough for small children.
"Arrived there on January 1st in the afternoon, and the place was still packed with people and extremely loud music coming from everywhere.
The kiosks have been remodeled, and things look much better now compared to a year ago. The flower beds with endemic species of the Mata Atlantica are well taken care of. Pay attention to the small coconut plants, Allagoptera arenaria. The sandy beach is nice with relatively warm waters. The waves are rough for small children, though. I was at the beach one rainy morning and had it all to myself."

"Good beach. Has some ok spots to surf. long sand beach. Waves are too much for small children. Also, the boards in decking along walk are rotten, missing, and nails sticking up. The buildings and area is not maintained by city and can cause fall and serious injury. Beach gym has fallen apart, playground has fallen apart. Sad to see such bad condition."
