What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ponta do Seixas is celebrated for its unique status as the easternmost point of the Americas and the breathtaking sunrise views. Visitors love the natural pools for snorkeling and the scenic beauty of the coastline. However, some reviews mention a need for better maintenance and security in certain areas.
"Seixas Point, is the easternmost point in South America and therefore of both the American continents. Located in the Brazilian state of Paraiba near the capital city of Joao Pessoa,
The name of the point derives from a traditional family from Paraíba whose patriarch owned a rural property near to the site. This ancestor of Portuguese origin, surnamed Rodrigues Seixas, settled in Paraíba in the 17th century.
What I found amazing was that this geographic fact was not definitively established until September 5th, 1941. A lighthouse was constructed on a bluff very near here that most folks confuse as the actual point. Built in 1971, it offers the best view of the white sandy beach that is the Ponta.
Also located nearby is the Estação Cabo Branco (popularly known as the Estação Ciência or “Science Station”). The building was designed by the famed architect Oscar Niemeyer (the guy who designed the entire city of Brasilia, the Brazilian capital).
If you're a tourist in the area, this is definitely a place you should visit."

"lugar muito bonito para mergulhar, alguns lugares com água na cintura, outros lugares para pular do barco e escorregador do barco com profundidade de 5 e 6 metros"
