"This is a wonderful park. Mostly used by joggers and walkers, but a number of families with small children were enjoying the park as well. Our group of six went for a two hour bird watching walk and saw no less than 12 different species of birds. We also saw a juvenile Green Iguana and a small lizard called, in Portuguese, Calangão (Tropidurus itambere).
It was very enjoyable, with many trails. The trail system is made up of both paved and unpaved. There is even a separate 300 meter section trail just of sand to offer a really strenuous workout.
The park is mostly thick wooded vegetation with a variety of tree species with many termite mounds in them. If you’re lucky, you might see the Peach-fronted Parakeet nesting high up in a dead tree in an old termite mound.
We did see the black-tailed marmosets on our walk that seemed very friendly, but don’t feed them."
