What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Parque Estadual do Rio Vermelho for its beautiful, tranquil scenery and lush rainforests, making it a peaceful escape. The park's rehabilitation efforts for wildlife are also a highlight. However, some find the guided tours too short, primarily in Portuguese, and the animal enclosures more akin to a zoo than a natural park.
"Rio Vermelho State Park is highly praised for its beautiful scenery, with lush forests, serene lakes, and breathtaking landscapes that captivate visitors. The peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal destination for those seeking a tranquil escape from the city. Additionally, the park offers a variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking, birdwatching, and guided nature tours, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty while staying active. These elements combine to create a truly memorable experience for anyone who visits."

"15 real per person, trail can't be explored on your own, guide is required and live animals are kept in cages. Looks more like a zoo than a state park. A group of about 20 people was already assembled when arrived and by the time we got our tickets and joined them, all introducing explanations were already given, although it didn't really matter since if you don't speak Portuguese, you're screwed (by the way we do speak fluently English,French and Spanish) yet it's not enough for this place. The trail is a little less than a mile but we turned away when we got to the first caged animals. Not worth the visit or the 15 real."

"40 minute tour. You see a few animals.
Not sure why anybody gives it a 5."
