Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Museu Finlandês Dona Eva Penedo for its unique focus on the history of Finnish settlers in Penedo and its charming location within the Finland's Club. The collection of original artifacts and the distinctive architecture are frequently highlighted as positive aspects. While some note the collection isn't vast, the overall experience is considered worthwhile and educational, especially given the modest entrance fee and welcoming staff.

"Very nice musuem about Finalnd's first settlers at the city of Penedo. This is the only musuem of this kind in Brazil, and it is located inside the beautiful building of the Finland's Club (it looks very medieval from the outside and, once inside, you'll see how wonderfully decorated it is: check out the superb work of its wooden carved stairs and stoned walls), which is well known in town. The entrance fee is a modest one (R$ 10,00), and the exhibition occupies two floors of the club, one of which is in the basement (sort of sets the tone of the visit). The collection is not vast, but there are tons of objects on display, most of them are original pieces, as they might have been donated from previous inhabitants of the Finalnd community that once existed in the area in 1929. The visit starts with a few historical panels and some patintings, including Toivo's work (need to confirm with the staff if it's still on display), and, then, it continues down onto the basement, including a few displays about past and present Finland's way of life. The entire visit may last around 1 hour or so, and the staff is very welcoming and happy to assist in any query from the visitors. There is a parking lot in front of the club. The musuem, though, is only opened during weekends, so, if you happen to have a chance to pop into town on Saturday or Sunday, I would really recommend taking the tour at this musuem."
