What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Praia do Espelho is widely celebrated as one of Brazil's most beautiful beaches, captivating visitors with its warm, clear waters and stunning natural pools that emerge at low tide. While the natural beauty is undeniable, the challenging dirt road access and the high cost of beach clubs are frequently mentioned drawbacks.
"Praia do Espelho is often rated as one of the top ten beaches in Brazil. It is indeed very beautiful, the water is very warm at low tide when the natural swimming pools emerge.
The central part of the beach (where the beach clubs are) is quite rocky and the waters were not that clean at the time. Best section is to the south crossing the little stream, the waters are cleaner, the sand glittery dark with plenty of shade from the palms. There is also a rock formation before the bend, very popular for taking nice pictures.
However Praia do Espelho is difficult to arrive to as the dirt road is quite bad, especially after rain. There are 18km from the Trancoso junction to the beach. On arrival you'll find some parking lots, costing about 30 reais per day. The one above Tunait Beach Club, where the viewing platform is, also has toilets and showers. The clubs are very expensive though and probably not worth it. The village of Curuipe is in fact a private gated community and can't be accessed.
As a conclusion, the natural beauty of the beach is outstanding but the place could be organised much better with better access and facilities."
