What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Bosque da Ciência INPA to be an affordable and interesting place to see Amazonian wildlife, with highlights like manatees and otters. However, some note that the infrastructure is dated and animal enclosures could be improved, with language barriers also being a concern for non-Portuguese speakers.
"We were quite disappointed. Only a few animals in very old and tiny cages. The infrasturcture itself is very old. All explanations are in portuguese only. There are qr codes for english translation. We tried many and none of them worked (error pages always). In our oppinion there is a lack of information about the big problems deforestation of the rainforest and extinction of animals in the amazonas region. The few information boards about these topics are mostly a bit hidden or in the last corners. Also we recoginzed, that most of the brazilians just pass by these information, even if they recognize them. Maybe put these information boards more central and in red colour so people have to deal with the neagtive information and the importance of environmental protection as well. Good thing: entrance is free."

The only thing you should be aware of are the mosquitoes so bathe yourself with some mosquito repellent lotion before starting your visit."
