"Another must-see Ottoman structure in Trebinje. Daily prayers aren't held here, so we waited in front of it, but there's another mosque nearby, the Sultan Ahmedova Džamija. Unfortunately, it's sad to see both mosques amidst the bars. When I spoke with the imam of the Sultan Ahmedova, he said that since he wasn't Muslim, prayers were only held in that mosque.
We were fortunate enough to perform the evening prayer in congregation; there were only six or seven of us. I think there was no local imam or muezzin present.
The small space behind the mosque's mihrab wasn't discovered until the late 1990s. During restoration in 1997, builders discovered a strange gap in the wall. A small chest was found hidden among the limestone.

"During my one-night stay, I had the opportunity to see the Sultanahmet Mosque and the city's other mosque, the Osman Pasha Mosque. Despite the efforts of the government and other powers to erase the traces of the Ottoman Empire, it is one of those structures that practically screams "Tribijine Ottoman city." Osman Pasha Mosque was closed when I arrived an hour after Isha. Nevertheless, since the gate was open, I was fortunate enough to perform ablution at the fountain in its courtyard and perform the Isha prayer. Unfortunately, there's a beerhouse next to this mosque with tables. The fountain in the other mosque doesn't flow either, as this area has abundant water resources. This may be intentional. Let's cherish these monuments as we go. Since I didn't take my cell phone with me on these trips, I couldn't take any photos, but I'm adding a few shots from a farther angle of the mosque. May God bless you in advance."
