Visiting Ypres. https://www.ypres-fbt.com/en/tours/extended-tour.html booked the south salient. May book the north. Anyone have any expierence with this group? Or recommendations in general. Also booked the battle of the Somme tour from Arras. Anyone with experience with that too?
... the salient tour looks like great value, Polygon Wood is also good to see, but there's so much. Battlefield touring aside, Arras is a great town.

It's described as a peaceful place for reflection, though some note there isn't an overwhelming amount to see beyond the main historical points.
"Beautiful laid out forest remembering the soldiers that fought in WWI. You either walk on the laid out hardened path or the more adventurous wrinkly paths through the forest. The area around the forest is also gorgeous with hills and fields you can wander through."
Yaron Naert
"A very different place compared to how it would have been in the Great War. Lots of evidence of the war still visible. A peaceful place to visit."
Dan P
"Very poignant memorial at Polygon wood and the associated ANZAC monument. Built on a huge Butte at the end of an old rifle range, the site was used as a hospital and first aid station during world war 1. A walk through the woods reveals multiple German bunkers and reinforcements and gives an insight into the challenge the allied troops faced. Polygon wood cemetery to the side also well worth a visit.
Ample off road parking available at the attached car park."
