What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mix Brussels is praised for its stunning modern design, exceptional spa and wellness facilities, and the vibrant FOX market. Guests love the chic ambiance and the quiet, comfortable rooms. However, some visitors have encountered issues with rude front desk staff, a lack of amenities like wardrobes, and the hotel's suburban location which requires transport for city exploration.
"Hotel itself is a nice place. The spa / gym area and the entire staff were lovely. Definitely the reason to visit. Timber restaurant is the most beautiful place to eat. The service was impeccable. I have worked in hospitality for over 20 years and I've never come across a more rude front desk staff. Not helpful, smart remarks and no smile at all. All Brunettes- don't want to say all of front desk staff as most were nice. Even the brown hair young man in Romeo (Tuesday evening) was awful! His colleague was very polite & helpful. The hotel is worth a visit if you don't expect polite service. Not even polite when told you'll be paying an extra (refundable) security fee €200. I have yet to be refunded. I was told I would be refunded 24 hours after the visit ended."

"The building is beautiful and has been restored impeccably. There is a very cool vibe here and everything looks sensational. The renovation to the building is outstanding. Breakfast was also fantastic - great spread and even the breakfast options adhered to the aesthetic and vibe of the hotel. Finally (and importantly), the room was completely silent and super dark with the blinds down - as a result I slept really well!
I give 4* rather than 5 (and may stay elsewhere in Brussels next time I’m back) because:
- Firstly, I was really surprised there are no wardrobes in the bedrooms?! I had a meeting the next morning but there was no where for me to hang my suit. There was no ironing board in the room and the one provided by staff was tiny and very difficult to use - they should invest in some proper ironing boards for guests at least. Probably too late for them to do anything about wardrobes in the bedrooms, but that is a serious oversight.
- Secondly, for somewhere with such great aesthetics, I was surprised at the lack of ventilation (probably down to the original design of the building). My room smelled a bit when I entered; and even the hotel lobby smells a lot of food. Even if they can’t do anything about ventilation, the use of some perfumes and air fresheners would help. This impacts first impressions.
- Thirdly, you already know this if you’re looking at staying here and management can’t change it, but the location really is in the deep suburbs and there is effectively nothing around for a visitor to the city. You need a car or to use taxis for effectively doing anything.
- Finally, the pool/gym is incredible in terms of facilities, but worth nothing that it is a membership gym which hotel guests have access to rather than being a hotel facility itself. It seems to attract a quite teenage instagram crowd. Not the end of the world, but when doing laps in the outdoor pool there were teenagers kissing and making noise in the outdoor saunas."

"The hotel looks very nice as well as well as the equipment. We loved the foodcourt concept down the hotel.
It is away from the city but good for a reset.
Except the lady who checked us in, those working at the wellness reception and the man who explained to us how the wellness works, every staff member we encountered was either rude or unprofessional and made our stay unpleasant.
- cleaning lady extremely rude: even though we clearly put the sign not to clean the room, she still woke me up. After a tense altercation with her I was absolutely not comfortable to let her in in our room and refused cleaning our entire stay as I did not want her around my stuffs. She also felt it was appropriate to give me the rudest up and down look as we were leaving... very unprofessional. Probably the same cleaning lady Ive seen people complaining about in the google reviews.
- open kitchen: the open kitchen concept might make one believe you might cook other types of eggs on demand. I kindly asked if that was a service u were offering and received a very rude reply. The cook could have nicely explained that unfortunately only what is presented is available. Even another person we did not know was shocked by the way he replied to me.
Anyway we came here for relaxation for our anniversary. Given the price one would expect better service. Please choose and train your staff better."
