Visitors praise Ladeuzeplein for its vibrant atmosphere, the stunning neoclassical University Library, and the unique beetle sculpture. The square is a lively hub for events, cafes, and local life, offering great photo opportunities and panoramic views from the library tower. Some find the tower climb a bit strenuous, and weather can impact the view.
"This neoclassical library is an interesting building. The bell tower is worth a climb, there is displays in the rooms as you go up. The library is in use and therefore silent, but well worth looking in on. There’s a good view from the top of the tower, with plaques showing the name of everything"

"I visited Laudezeplein in Leuven and loved the vibrant atmosphere. The mix of cafés, historic charm, and lively street life made it feel welcoming. It’s the perfect spot to relax, people-watch, and enjoy the city’s energy."
Ruben K.
"If you are in Belgium for a few days and want to visit somewhere aside from the normal cities, I’d highly recommend this small city just 20 minutes always from Brussels by train. The Library is beautiful and you have the option of paying a little extra and can do the tour up to the bell tower. There you can learn a lot of history about this library and what is has been through. Unfortunately it was really foggy the day we visited so we couldn’t appreciate the sites but I’m sure there would be lovely to see from the top. Staff were very friendly and helpful too."
