"Its just part of the hiking path, there is really just one viewpoint, accurately shown on the map. Free parking nearby, just follow the well signposted path and cross the bridge. About 10 minute walk from the parking area."

"Beautiful castle!!!! The panoramic view of the castle is awesome. I visited in the afternoon, and there were very less crowd.
Park your car in Rue Du barrage then walk and cross the bridge 2-3 mnt walks to get the view of the castle.
If you've read guides saying you have to jump a fence or crawl under barbed wire, these are not correct. There is a path to the left of the area where people have clearly walked under a barbed wire fence. Take the path on the left, as it is much easier."

A Glimpse into Walzin Castle's Past
Over the centuries, the castle faced significant destruction, being razed four times. Despite these challenges, its 11th-century watchtowers have endured. It withstood numerous military assaults, including those from the Prince-Bishopric of Liège in 1489 and the French army in 1554.
The castle's current picturesque appearance is the result of extensive renovations. Baron Alfred Brugmann began the restoration process in 1850, with architect Émile Janlet completing them in 1881. Later, Baron Frédéric Brugmann initiated another major renovation in 1930, led by architect Octave Flanneau, which concluded in 1932, giving Walzin Castle the iconic look it's known for today.
