What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Toronto Avenue Cemetery to be an overwhelmingly peaceful and moving resting place, particularly appreciated for its serene forest setting and its status as an all-Australian cemetery. While the limited parking and narrow access road are noted drawbacks, the profound sense of quiet reflection it offers makes it a highly recommended stop for those interested in history and remembrance.
"A small Commonwealth Cemetery tucked away and hidden in a small wood close to the 2014 Christmas Truce memorial & the Prowse Corner cemetery, and only a very short walk from the cemetery at Mud Corner.
It's surrounded by trees, it's very quiet and not very big at all. The grass, due to its location, appears to have been relaid, probably due to the lack of sunshine. Yet despite its location, it's apparent from the visitors' book that it still gets visitors every week, almost every day this time of year (September/October). It really is so quiet & allows you time just to ponder what it may have been like here over 100 years ago."

"Quite. A peaceful resting place for these Diggers. Easy to find if Driving the dirt road leading to Cemetery is very narrow and just enough room to park 2 cars. Fromelles and here are the only 2 all Australian cemeteries . RIP Diggers"
