What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Chaloupe d'Or is celebrated for its unbeatable location on Brussels' Grand Place, offering stunning views and classic Belgian cuisine. While many praise the food quality and the unique 'Secret Chalet' experience for groups, some visitors note that service can be slow during peak times and drink prices are on the higher side. Despite minor drawbacks, its prime setting makes it a highly recommended stop for tourists.
"Fantastic restaurant located right in the heart of Grand Place! We enjoyed the mussel fries and beef stew fries, paired with a delicious Belgian beer. Both dishes were excellent! As a tourist, trying the mussel fries and beef stew fries is a must. While there are many restaurants in the area, this one is definitely worth a visit!"

"I had a lovely meal at La Chaloupe d’Or, right in the heart of Brussels. My dad had the moules marinières – fresh, flavourful, and generously portioned. My mum had the vol-au-vent with frites fraîches, which was warm, comforting, and delicious. I had the truffle cream ravioli (les ravioles aux truffes crémées) – rich, indulgent, and full of flavour. We all had Cosmopolitans to drink, and they were perfectly balanced.
The only downside was the waiting time – we had to wait over half an hour for our food, which did take away from the experience a little. That said, the food itself was excellent and the setting on Grand Place is beautiful. Worth a visit, but be prepared for a bit of a wait during busy times."

"The food was really good and the service was extremely quick. The interior decor is beautiful. The only downside is the price of drinks. A cocktail costs more than a steake.."
