"We had the guided distillery tour and it was awesome. Our guides was super nice and friendly.
The tour is great as you can see each step of production closely. We even had the chance to taste a rum directly from the still (awesome experience if you are a rum enthusiast). We had the tasting in an amazing room, where you can also buy some bottles."

"A review by someone SOBER who did a tour:
It was worth it. Damien was an incredible guide. Very knowledgeable, kind, and had answers for all the questions we asked.
The tour was comprehensive of the entire rum making process, starting with a rum cocktail and ending with a rum tasting of 4 rums that my partner did and greatly enjoyed.
Wear comfortable shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, and bring extra water. A good portion of the tour was in the direct sun. There are water stations throughout the tour too. I also had a small portable fan that was useful in really warm areas with not much airflow.
Even as someone who doesn’t drink, I found this tour very interesting as I enjoy learning about the history and processes of things such as this. The history is beyond cool and is such a core part of Barbadian culture. It’s an absolute must."

"An absolutely fantastic experience at Mount Gay Rum Distillery! Our tour was led by Tina, and I can confidently say she is one of the best guides I’ve ever had. She was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and clearly so proud of the long-standing tradition at Mount Gay. Her passion for the craft made the experience even more special.
We learned so much—not just about the rich history of Mount Gay, but also about how the distillery operates today. Walking through the grounds and exploring the rooms still in use for production was a real treat. It was fascinating to see how deeply rooted in traditional methods Mount Gay remains while still producing world-class rum.
The rum tasting at the end was the perfect way to wrap up the tour. Tina didn’t just pour drinks—she taught us proper tasting techniques and even gave us a little science lesson on rum! Such a fun and engaging experience from start to finish.
⚠️ Important Tips:
✅ Pre-book your tickets! We originally wanted to go the same day but realized it was sold out, so we had to book for a few days later. Prebooking is a must!
🚗 Plan your transport—public transport isn’t really an option to get there. We negotiated with a local taxi driver to take us to and from Bridgetown for a good price, and it was no problem at all.
Couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough! And honestly, Ms Tina deserves a raise—she’s a true gem and a testament to the legacy of Mount Gay. If you’re in Barbados, this tour is a must-do!"
