"Bahadur Shah Park is a historic site located in Old Dhaka, Bangladesh, near Sadarghat. It was established in 1858 during British rule and is closely associated with the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The park is named after Bahadur Shah II, the last Mughal emperor, who was a symbolic figure in the uprising against British colonial rule. During the rebellion, many soldiers and civilians fought against the British at this location. However, after the revolt was suppressed, several rebel soldiers were publicly executed here. Today, Bahadur Shah Park stands as a memorial to those who resisted British rule. It serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made during the struggle for independence and is a popular place for visitors, offering green spaces and historical significance in the heart of Old Dhaka."
