What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Qala'at Bu Maher as a significant historical site and the starting point of the Pearling Path, offering beautiful sunset views from its heritage beach and pier. While some found the fort under renovation during their visit, the adjacent museum provided valuable insights into Bahrain's pearling heritage. Directions can sometimes be confusing, but the overall experience is highly recommended for its historical and scenic value.
"The start or the end of the Pearling path, which is probably the best tourist thing to do in Bahrain.
When I was here the fort was under renovation, but you can use Thai spot to start your walk for the pearling path.
Also one of probably only 2 pedestrian crossings in all of Bahrain is here!"

"Very beautiful place to learn the history of Bahrain. It was unfortunately going through renovations during my visit. However, I was able to fortunately visit the modern museum adjacent to it which highlighted the pearling history of the area through dioramas in an AC controlled building. The highlight for me was the "Pearling Path" that passes through the area ends at the beach with a small pier that you can watch the sunset over Manama. Directions could be a bit confusing, so when using Google maps look for a walking bridge with signage for elevators leading up."
