What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the outstanding quality of specialty coffee and delicious desserts, including vegan options. The knowledgeable staff and unique merchandise are also highlights. However, some find the cafe can be crowded and the seating less comfortable, with mixed feedback on staff friendliness.
"Good specialty coffee, several yummy desserts to choose from (including vegan), as well as an array of coffee and coffee-related products, even merch. The barista (who was one of the owners, I think) was really nice to talk to; he even gave us a great suggestion for what to see while in Vienna.
The coffee shop itself is in a central location, very easy to get to, and the coffee (while a bit expensive) was well worth it, since “regular” coffee in the area isn’t much cheaper. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. We arrived very close to opening time and there were already several customers, so it’s nice to see that such a specialized place is a fixture in the local community!!"

"It's a tiny place with a good variety of coffee and a few cakes. I liked the cakes, but the cappuccino was just warm. I wish it had been a bit hotter. The place was also too crowded and not very comfortable to sit in. There are two benches with very low tables, and the other place is just too tight."

"Stopped by for a quick coffee and was pleasantly surprised by the quality—smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. They also have a selection of cute coffee-themed souvenirs and accessories, which make for nice little gifts.
However, the atmosphere was a bit off. The keeper wasn’t particularly warm or welcoming, which took away from the overall experience. A smile or a bit of friendliness would’ve gone a long way in such a small, personal space.
Great for a quick coffee stop or a browse through coffee merch, but don’t expect a cozy café vibe or warm service."

The Art of Viennese Coffee Culture

This means a focus on bean origin, roasting profiles, and precise brewing methods to highlight the unique flavors of each coffee. Visitors can expect a more curated selection, often with single-origin options and detailed descriptions of tasting notes.
This blend of tradition and modernity makes The Good Coffee Society a fascinating stop for anyone interested in Vienna's evolving coffee scene. It offers a glimpse into how contemporary coffee culture thrives within a city deeply rooted in its historical coffee house traditions.

To make the most of your visit and potentially secure a more comfortable spot, consider arriving early, particularly on weekday mornings. This allows you to experience the cafe's offerings with fewer people around. If you're looking for a quick coffee and a chance to browse their merchandise, the crowds might be less of an issue.
While the space is described as 'tiny' by some, its central location and the quality of the coffee make it a worthwhile stop for many. It's a place that thrives on its reputation for excellent coffee, even if the seating isn't always luxurious.
