What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Pötzleinsdorfer Schlosspark for its natural, untamed beauty and peaceful atmosphere, offering a welcome escape from the city bustle. Its vast meadows, unique historical elements, and seasonal transformations, like the spring wild garlic bloom, are highlights. While it lacks amenities like cafes, its free entry and family-friendly features make it a beloved spot for relaxation and exploration.
"Pötzleinsdorfer Schlosspark is definitely one of the more unusual parks in Vienna — and that’s exactly what makes it special.
Unlike the perfectly manicured gardens you usually find in the city, this park feels much more natural, almost like stepping into the countryside. It’s really big too — you could easily spend hours walking around.
Especially in spring, it’s absolutely worth a visit. The park is filled with wild garlic (Aglio orsino) in bloom, and if you go at the right time, you’ll see entire fields covered in tiny white flowers — it honestly looks like a sea of blossoms, or like it snowed in spring. It’s just beautiful.
There’s also a small Greek-style building with statues that were rescued from an old theater that burned down years ago — a really charming touch.
The park is perfect for long walks, peaceful runs, and even exploring further into the Wienerwald (Vienna Woods) if you feel like adventuring a bit more.
Near the entrance, there’s also a nice playground area for kids and even some goats and sheep playing in a fenced area.
If you’re looking for a quieter, less touristy park where you can enjoy nature at its best, this is the place to go."

"A space to find your inner peace and get awày from the city bustle. Free to enter. Very large. Has tarred walkways. Hills are quite steep. Lots of open spaces and large trees. No dogs allowed. Has a great play area for kids. Great place to jog or walk for excercise."

"What a beautiful park to have a walk, jog, or go to the playground with your kids. It's full of live: little insects, birds, ducks.. Just be informed that it's forbidden for dogs."
