What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Gmoa-Keller is praised for its authentic Viennese cuisine, particularly its excellent schnitzel, and its charming, cozy cellar atmosphere. While service is generally professional and courteous, some guests have noted issues with food temperature and mixed experiences with certain dishes like potato salad. The value for money is considered good, though the restaurant can get warm.
"Outstanding service, great food - we really enjoyed our time here. Well recommended if you are after some traditional Austrian specialties. Nice choice of beers too. Price/quality ratio much better than the restaurants in the more touristy central part. We were seated in the underground Keller and it was very nice, well air conditioned and nicely lit. I really can't commend the service enough - the team that served us was amazing."

"This place was recommended by our hotel, so we made a reservation in advance to try the schnitzel. The atmosphere was cozy and had an authentic Austrian feel, which we really appreciated—it felt very local. However, the restaurant was quite warm inside, which made the experience a bit uncomfortable.
We started with soup, but the only options available contained beef. We weren’t thrilled with the choices but decided to try one. It was a clear broth with sliced crepe, but unfortunately, the taste was underwhelming.
The veal schnitzel, on the other hand, was very good—crispy, flavorful, and generously portioned. It came with a potato salad on the side. In hindsight, we should’ve ordered just one to share, as it was more than enough.
Bread was served promptly after we placed our order, and the staff were professional and courteous throughout.
Overall, a decent experience with a great schnitzel, but a few things could’ve been better."

"Best place for Martinigansl, great vibes, and amazing staff. We were 8 people and sat in the Keller area of the restaurant, which I actually preferred over the main floor. It took around 20 minutes after our order for the plates to arrive, but overall it was one of the best foodie nights.
However, on a different visit, one of the waiters made me feel pressured to leave a tip. That day, because I wasn’t satisfied with the service, I didn’t want to tip on purpose, but I still ended up doing it because of the pressure."
