What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Kapall for its breathtaking alpine scenery and the rewarding challenge of its hiking trails, particularly the route to Leutkircher Hütte. The charming hut with its vegan options is a highlight. However, some trails are very demanding and not for those afraid of heights.
"Kapall to Leutkircher Hütte and then down to St. Anton
This is a truly beautiful but challenging hike with breathtaking views—definitely recommended only if you’re comfortable with unstable terrain and not afraid of heights. The trail cuts through rockfall areas and includes a very narrow path along a rock face with an abyss on one side, requiring careful footing. Near the Kapall upper station, we even passed through fresh snow, which added a special touch to the experience.
Leutkircher Hütte is a real gem, with beautiful people, stunning views, and even vegan food—a rare and very welcome surprise! From there, you can either return the way you came or—as we did—descend 1,000 vertical meters to St. Anton via a scenic trail and then a dirt road. The route takes you through a diverse range of landscapes: grassy slopes, lower and taller forests, flowing streams, and a vibrant array of alpine flowers. A rewarding adventure for those who come prepared!"

"Very cool top of most east part of Ski ARLBERG resorts. You can reach from many side but easy is from Gampen."

"Fantastic viewpoint at the top of the ski slope. Several routes lead off. The one to the Lacknerhutte cabin is very beautiful, although it has several vertiginous points (only recommended for experienced hikers). In summer, the chairlift is open to hikers, free of charge as long as they have the Sankt Anton Summer Card. It can be used to go up and down from the summit."
