What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Sigmund-Thun-Klamm for its stunning natural beauty and well-executed infrastructure. The dramatic gorge, turquoise glacial water, and accessible wooden walkways create an unforgettable experience. Some note that it can get crowded, especially in the mornings, and recommend visiting later in the day or on weekdays for a more peaceful visit.
"Depending on the time of day you can book tickets so you enter faster, it's usually more crowded in the morning. Plenty of parking spots available (4 parking areas). Be sure not to miss the panorama after visiting the gorge. When you exit, go left, follow the green trail and after a couple of meters follow the sign to Burgkogel on the left - 5 min hike and then you reach a great observation point above the lake. If you follow the trail further you get to the parking areas."

"Very accessible and relativly short circular trail around the Klamm waterfalls. We took around one hour to complete the entire 6km route while enjoying the scenery. The first part is made of wooden platforms and stairs, and then the trail becomes as flat as it gets.
It's perfect for a quick visit or a relaxing day trip. There are many benches and places to rest along the trail, as well as photo corners."

The walk isn’t too long, but every step offers something new—towering cliffs, refreshing waterfalls, and peaceful forest surroundings at the top. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. I especially loved the sound of the water echoing through the gorge—it felt both powerful and calming at the same time.
It’s an easy activity to fit into your day in Kaprun, and the scenery makes it unforgettable. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area—it’s a natural wonder you shouldn’t miss!"
