After a short time, you reach the Rauthhütte via a steep forest path. From here, the trail continues on narrow tracks up to the summit. After the mountain pine zone, an energy-sapping hike through rugged terrain begins. Behind an avalanche barrier, you reach the eastern summit. Up to here the trail was rather average. The path to the western summit leads past steep rocks and precipices and rewards with spectacular views. Between the western summit and the Niedere Munde, a cutting must be crossed via a via ferrata. The via ferrata is not difficult but exposed, alpine sure-footedness and a head for heights are basic requirements. A helmet is recommended at weekends, as inexperienced people are often on the trail and loose rocks. At the end of the via ferrata, the route descends over scree fields, later through mountain pine fields down to Leutasch. Enjoyable hike in good-grip terrain!"
