What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Highline 179 for its breathtaking mountain scenery and the exhilarating experience of crossing the long suspension bridge. The historical Ehrenberg Castle ruins add significant appeal. However, some find the cost to be on the higher side, and those with a strong fear of heights may find it challenging.
"The landscape is breathtaking, surrounded by mountains, and crossing the Highline bridge was truly thrilling. It took us about 10–15 minutes to walk across, and on the other side you’ll find small benches where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the scenic views. There’s also a little playground for kids and a short 10-minute movie, though it might feel a bit scary for some children. The view from the castle is equally beautiful—definitely worth a visit!"

"We visited Highline179 today with friends and it was a stunning experience! The suspension bridge itself is absolutely breathtaking, with panoramic views over the valley and surrounding mountains. The short walk up to the entrance took us about 10–15 minutes on one side, and it was well worth it once we stepped onto the bridge. Crossing it together was exciting, a little thrilling, and gave us amazing photo opportunities. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area!"

"Bridge 179, a tourist attraction.
The largest iron bridge in Europe connecting 2 points (fortresses). There is a large parking lot a few minutes walk from the start of the route.
Parking costs 5 euros for a regular car.
There are 2 routes to choose:
1) on foot, about a 20-minute walk up the mountain to the bridge.
2) go up by funicular (31 euros for a family of 2 + 2).
The cost of the bridge per family is 36 euros.
if you want to go up to the higher part (1740 meters) another 31 euros (really not cheap) you can do the first part on foot up + down.
The bridge is crazy, really long above the entire area - the bridge sways but very safe.
In addition, there is a small museum on site. A very nice experience, very special but not cheap."
