Despite minor drawbacks, it's considered a lovely place for relaxation and angling.
"Windang bridge is beautiful. Having now moved away from Windang, I appreciate it more. Good place to fish, not a safe place to swim. It is great for BBQ's or just sitting and resting (like I did) with a coffee and my thoughts."

"Such a beautiful place to take a photo on a high tide and a sunny day with the bridge in the back ground behind you, as well you can sit on the seats provided and look at the beautiful lake Illawarra"
Rex Cowan
"Lovely place for fishing, i went there twice this year to fish. Wasn’t so lucky first time as all fish we caught were too small (mostly baby breams by the looks of it). Our second visit was luckier, we caught two decent sized leatherjackets. Good thing is the water here’s fecund, the bait always got bitten. Hope to be luckier next time & catch a flathead as we saw some lucky ppl did. There’s also a park nearby with toilet & bbq facility, nice spot for family outing. Oh, beware of the old pelican who’s always lurking & trying to steal your catch."
