What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Logan's Beach as an incredible spot for whale watching during the winter months, with the platform offering superb ocean views. Even without whale sightings, the dramatic coastal scenery and powerful waves are a major draw, making it a peaceful and beautiful destination. The well-maintained facilities, including clean toilets, are also appreciated.
"Although we were out with our timing for whale watching, (June-September), we decided that the day was pleasant enough to visit Logan's Beach, on the 'off chance'.
As expected, there were no whale sightings in the hour or more that we were there, but plenty of bird life, & a couple of surfers enjoying the waves.
The sound of the surf was relaxing, & the views breathtaking. It was a pleasant way to spend time in the morning.
The viewing platform is in good condition, & would enable great views of the whales migrating. It would however, be difficult for anyone with mobility issues to use.
We didn't have problems with parking, as the car park was close to the platform. There is no cost for parking. It would be difficult during peak whale watching season as the area isn't overly large.
Well worth a visit."

"Annually between June and September, Southern Right whales return to the waters of this beach to calve. The whales often swim within a hundred metres of the shore. They can be viewed from a specially constructed platform in the sand dunes or from the beach. The waters are much lower than the platform, thus offering excellent whale spotting opportunity. We didn't see any whales during our visit here. Popular with tourists. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Parking is easy on the access road. Beautiful place. Lots to see. Great place for photography. Free entry. Uneven terrain, lot of walking"

"This is a viewing platform that is quite known in the area. In whale season apparently you can spot whales right from this viewing platform. We were not in the right season but we took a shot anyway, without any luck though. Nevertheless it was peaceful and beautiful!"
