What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Adventure Park Geelong is a popular family destination, especially praised for its thrilling rides and extensive water park facilities during summer. The seasonal light festivals are a major draw, offering a magical experience with beautiful displays. However, visitors frequently point out the high cost of food and drinks, and the snow play zone can be overcrowded during peak times.
"This place suits for families with young (primarily school age) kids. Not so much for youth (secondary school age) kids due to the option of rides available. Snow play zone is too crowded. Foods options are quite good. Lightings declaration are beautiful."

"We went to the WinterGlow for the 2nd year running. Really enjoyed all but 2 parts of it.
The food and drink prices are SHOCKING. $13 for a tiny pizza (can get the same size pizzas as a 4 pack in Aldi for cheaper than they charge). They are also pre packaged and not made on site, probably are from Aldi.
Same with drinks and other food, way way way over priced. It’s basic, mass produced food.
The snow zone is more of an ice zone with too many people in a given session. Once in, you just kinda find a spot and stay there.
I loved the new snowball zone though as last year, too many people were throwing ‘ice balls’ at each other, some of which went astray.
Now for the good, the rides are all included as part of the ticket price which is great. Please can you put the ‘Crazy Coaster’ out of action next year as I cannot be dragged on for a 3rd year running. 🤢
The ice sculpture, amazing!
The lights, beautiful! Can’t fault then at all and it’s amazing watching them ‘come to life’ as the sun sets and it gets dark.
Marshmallows, again maybe a bit over priced (especially when you add $2 for an extra 2 biscuits which cost about that for a whole packet in the shops) but probably the most fun part for me.
We get there a bit early and there seems to be a lot of parking spaces. And we usually spend 4-5 hours there so it’s def somewhere you ‘can’ spend a lot of time and not get bored."

"Was good place , lots of lights and entertainment for kids. Could have got more food options as thr current ones were more of fixed frozen menu and not fresh 🤔 for that price. Overall good entertainment for winter glow festival with various ride options , but yes it has its own queue on the fav ones."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Young Children
To make the most of your family visit, consider visiting during weekdays to avoid the largest crowds. Pack plenty of sunscreen, hats, and swimwear, as the water attractions are a major draw. While food options are available, bringing some of your own snacks can help manage costs, especially with younger children who might have specific preferences or need frequent refueling.
💰 Budget-Conscious Travelers
Focusing your visit on the included rides and attractions rather than purchasing additional extras can help keep costs down. If visiting during a seasonal event, weigh the cost of admission against the unique offerings. Sometimes, a general admission ticket during a non-event period might offer more value if your primary goal is to enjoy the rides and water park.
📸 Photography Enthusiasts
For the best shots, plan to visit during the transition from dusk to night to capture both the park's daytime features and the magical glow of the lights. The Treetop Cabanas offer unique perspectives, and the water park areas provide vibrant scenes during the day. Remember that while you can capture memories from viewing areas, using cameras or phones on most rides is prohibited for safety reasons.

Seasonal Events: A Dazzling Transformation
These seasonal spectacles draw large crowds, so planning your visit is crucial. While the lights and decorations are universally praised, some reviews mention that the snow play zone can become very crowded, feeling more like an 'ice zone' with limited space. Additionally, the food and drink prices during these events are often noted as being significantly high, with basic, mass-produced items carrying a premium. Despite these drawbacks, the sheer beauty of the light displays and the unique winter-themed activities make these events a memorable experience for many.
When attending these events, it's advisable to arrive early to maximize your time and potentially avoid the longest queues for rides and attractions. The park is designed to be explored over several hours, and the transition from dusk to full darkness offers the most dramatic visual impact for the light displays. Consider purchasing tickets in advance to streamline your entry and ensure you don't miss out on these popular, limited-time attractions.
Navigating the Rides and Attractions
While the park is generally considered family-friendly, reviews suggest it's particularly well-suited for school-aged children. Younger children have access to specific areas like a kids' train and smaller water play features. However, teenagers or older youth might find the ride options less varied compared to larger theme parks. The Treetop Cabanas offer a more relaxed experience, providing private spaces with amenities like a fridge and TV for those seeking comfort and convenience.
It's worth noting that popular rides can have significant queues, especially during peak times and school holidays. Visitors often recommend checking the park map to strategize ride choices and minimize wait times. While most rides are included in the admission price, the sheer volume of visitors can impact how many attractions you can experience in a single day.
Food and Drink: A Point of Contention
Despite the price concerns, the food options available are generally described as decent, offering standard theme park fare. Visitors have noted that the food and drink areas are usually well-laid out and organized, which can help manage the flow of guests. For those looking to manage their budget, bringing some of your own snacks or planning to eat before or after your visit might be a wise strategy.
When attending events like the Winter Glow, the food pricing is particularly scrutinized. While the overall experience of the event is often praised, the cost of consumables like marshmallows (even with added biscuits) can add up. It's a trade-off between convenience and cost, and visitors often weigh the enjoyment of the park against the expense of its dining options.
