"The Macquarie Light Station has recently been refurbished with new signage, a restored heritage wall on the cliff side and a fresh paint job. It is looking better than ever and if you get a chance to do one of the tours then go for it as the tour is very informative. Many years ago we did the tour and we were told that people in Sydney did not want to see the flashing light in their home so the windows were covered facing the city. We live in Dover Heights and I told the guide that we had the same issue of flashing light from the lighthouse in our bedroom window. He told me to contact the NSW agency in charge and after many emails and several years they covered the windows even more so the lights no longer flash as much facing the home to the south of the lighthouse."

"Macquarie Lighthouse is a historic and iconic landmark in Sydney, known as the oldest lighthouse in Australia. Located at Vaucluse near South Head, it offers a fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean and the entrance to Sydney Harbour. The white tower stands beautifully against the blue sky, making it a great spot for photography and sightseeing. The surrounding area is peaceful, with open green spaces that are perfect for a walk or picnic. Guided tours are sometimes available, giving visitors a chance to learn more about the history of the lighthouse and its importance for ships navigating the coast. Overall, Macquarie Lighthouse is a wonderful place to enjoy both history and coastal scenery, and it’s definitely worth a visit.”"
