"Food was excellent. Even their children's menu is very good. (Kids enjoyed their meals too!) Love that the menu changes too, so we get a different experience everytime we come back.

Last night, I had the incredible privilege of dining at Altitude Restaurant Sydney as a graduation present from my auntie. Celebrating this milestone in such a stunning setting made the evening unforgettable, offering the perfect combination of spectacular views, exquisite cuisine, and heartfelt celebration. The city stretched out beneath us like a living painting, and for a moment, it felt as though the harbour itself was part of the celebration.

In today’s review, I will cover the location and scenery, culinary experience, drinks, and exceptional service that made the evening so memorable.

Location and Scenery
Altitude is on the 36th floor of the Shangri-La Hotel, offering sweeping views of Sydney Harbour, the Opera House, and the Harbour Bridge. From the moment we arrived, the city lights, calm waters, and elegant atmosphere created a sense of awe. Each glance out of the window felt like a quiet invitation to pause and reflect, letting the harbour’s serenity and the city’s vibrancy mingle in a rare moment of stillness.

Cuisine
We each enjoyed separate three-course menus, each perfectly balanced in flavour, texture, and presentation. For my warm entree, I had the Conchiglie Pasta with Yamba prawn, spanner crab, zucchini, tomato, and dill pangrattato with pimentón. Fresh, light, and full of flavour, it was thoughtfully composed to delight both the palate and the eye. My auntie enjoyed a chilled entree of Yellowtail Kingfish, served as sashimi and tartare with kohlrabi, oxalis, citrus, ginger, wasabi, and Shangri-La ponzu. Elegant and refreshing, it brought the freshness of the ocean to the height of the city. For our mains, I had the Condabilla Murray Cod with coconut, brioche, macadamia, apple syrup, and kaffir lime, while my auntie had her own Condabilla Murray Cod prepared the same way. Tender, rich, and perfectly cooked, it was both satisfying and delicate. To finish, we each had an assiette of desserts including Blossom Berry Tart, Passionfruit Crème, and Carrot and Wattleseed Cake, each beautifully presented, flavourful, and memorable.

Drinks
We had pineapple juice x2 and the Sunset at the Harbour, a non-alcoholic mocktail made with Lyre’s Italian Spritz, Seedlip Spice, grapefruit syrup, and verjuice. Light, aromatic, and refreshing, it complemented the meal perfectly and provided a moment to pause and enjoy the celebration.

Service
The staff at Altitude were exceptional. Their warmth, attentiveness, and celebratory spirit made the evening personal and memorable. Because it was my graduation, the drinks were on the house, and throughout the night staff and fellow diners offered congratulations, shook my hand, and shared in the joy of the evening. Their kindness elevated the entire experience.

Overall Impression
Altitude Sydney is more than a restaurant. Exceptional cuisine, breathtaking views, and heartfelt hospitality come together to create a perfect celebration. Every element contributed to a memorable evening. My experience was 5 out of 5, and I would highly recommend Altitude to anyone seeking a remarkable evening of fine dining and celebration in Sydney."
