Reviews Summary
Springvale Botanical Cemetery is praised for its stunning botanical gardens and tranquil atmosphere, offering a beautiful and peaceful environment for remembrance. However, some visitors have reported significant issues with customer service, communication regarding burial arrangements, and a lack of clarity on policies, leading to distress during sensitive times.
"Springvale Botanical Cemetery is a unique blend of tranquility and natural beauty, seamlessly merging a place of remembrance with a stunning botanical landscape. As you approach, the vast expanse of greenery signals your arrival, though first-time visitors searching solely for the serene Botanic Park may find the entrance slightly confusing. It’s important to remember that this is, first and foremost, a cemetery—yet it offers so much more than that.
Once inside, you’re welcomed into a meticulously maintained sanctuary, where lush green canopies provide shade and comfort. The park is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, all carefully cultivated to create an atmosphere of peace and reflection. Every element of the landscape is thoughtfully designed, making it not just a place of rest for loved ones but also a beautiful escape for those seeking a moment of serenity.
Whether you're visiting to pay respects or simply to take in the breathtaking botanical setting, Springvale Botanical Cemetery offers a unique experience—one that harmoniously blends nature, history, and tranquility.|
Bottom Note : Never mind the behaviour of the staff here."

"The cemetery is lovely and a place my mother chose to be the final resting place for my father. Apart from this our experience with the cemetery was horrific during a time of mourning and sadness.
My father passed unexpectedly, when dealing with the cemetery sales team we were responded to promptly, a stark difference to responses that we are still waiting for after the funeral. At the sales meeting we asked for all available plots including those returned by other families, we were told the cemetery was full only the new section was free. Apparently the person also checked with management to confirm this. At the sale meeting, apart from processing the sale of the plot, there was no mention about what is included in the plot price, coffin sizes suitable for the plot or asked about any cultural/religious requirements etc. This being the first time our family buried anyone. We made all other arrangements, including the purchase of a coffin, after purchasing the plot. Only to find out 48hrs before that you would be buried in soil and we did not have an option to have a concrete liner installed in the grave, to prevent the crushing of the coffin (religious/cultural significance about not crushing the body). The cemetery advised this was because the person next to the plot may not have room to dig. I had reserved the plot next to my parents and said would sign a waiver if this was going to be an issue. We were advised it did not matter we were not allowed to line the grave.
Only when we told the cemetery that as a result we could not bury our father there, due to religious/cultural reasons (eg crushing the body). It was only at this point, that the cemetery told us there was another plot available that was lined. This plot was also available at the time we made our first enquiries, but it was cheaper (not an optimal sale for the cemetery) and we were never told about it. We changed plots. The cemetery adviser that our coffin was oversized and may scratch going in or may not fit, we accepted to sign a waiver in this regard, emails sent confirming this, we left the cemetery to have the vigil. To note, at the time of the first sale none of these details were advised, if we knew we would have made alternative choices. Less than 48 hours before the funeral, during the vigil, we received a late night call advising the funeral was going to be cancelled. After many distressing calls and threats from the cemetery. The funeral director and family repeatedly confirmed measurements were taken and there was no issue with fitting. Despite this there was no risk to the cemetery it was ours.
On the day of the funeral, despite being advised the plot would be cleaned up and ready a day before, on the morning of the funeral we found the plot water logged and not dug up, despite being 2 hours before the burial.
To cut a long story short, the coffin fit no issues. But the distress, misleading and failure to provide all necessary information and plots available allowing a family to make decisions caused by this cemetery, on top of what we were already going through, is indescribable.
We are a week out and have emailed the cemetery to which we have no responses provided, stark difference compared to the time pre-sale. Still have no understanding of how they buried dad eg is there a concrete separation, for which the cemetery said they would waive, or was the sand just put on top. Aside from selling the staff at this cemetery either don’t care or have zero understanding or training about asking what cultural and/or religious requirements for burial. Which is astonishing and deeply disappointing.
Please be weary of this sales driven cemetery, arguable predatory for those in mourning, and their failure to provide the necessary information then only to add additional costs (to an already premium fee of an additional $6k on top of the plot price).
*I submitted our “feedback” to the cemetery on the link below, as requested. Received a call from sale team who had no idea what I was talking about. Amazing!"
