"Absolutely amazing day today.
We went on the Dolphin, Sea lion and Penguin Island cruise. Perfect weather, calm clear seas. We got to see lots of dolphin activity, pods of 8 playing around the boat for awhile. Heaps of sea lions sleeping on the island beach. Well worth a trip to Rockingham to experience some natural wonders. The skippers did a great job and were very knowledgeable about the area. It's obvious they love the job they are doing and make the experience a memorable one, in all the best ways. Loved it, thankyou"

"Penguin Island & Dolphin, Sea Lion & Penguin Island Cruise – A Stunning Nature Experience
Penguin Island is a breathtaking destination just off the coast of Rockingham, perfect for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. The short ferry ride over offers gorgeous views, and the island itself features crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and scenic walking trails.
Seeing little penguins in the wild is rare, but the 30-minute guided tour was a great way to explore the island’s beauty and learn about its wildlife. Two special highlights were spotting a dolphin and also seeing the sea lion play with his food during the tour—both magical moments! The island is also home to a variety of seabirds, making it a great spot for birdwatching.
We also took part in the Dolphin, Sea Lion & Penguin Island Cruise, which was a fantastic experience. While we didn’t see dolphins during the cruise itself, the sight of sea lions lounging on the sandbanks was incredible. The crew was knowledgeable and made the experience both informative and engaging. The cruise provided beautiful views of the marine park and made for a relaxing way to enjoy the area.
Overall, Penguin Island combined with the cruise makes for a fantastic day trip. Just be sure to bring your own food and water, as facilities on the island are limited.
A wonderful nature experience with stunning scenery, wildlife encounters, and a well-run guided tour and cruise!"

"We did the 60min dolphin cruise, the tour was incredible and so were the wonderful staff. Our skipper, Bradley, was very talented, we all felt very safe, the trip was smooth and he got us nice and close to a lot of the attractions, Isla the deck/guide was extremely knowledgeable, well spoken and full of fun facts if you get these two your tour will be great! They showed us dolphins and sea lions and ospreys. If you’re in the area this tour is a MUST :)"

Understanding the Marine Life
The little penguins, the smallest penguin species in the world, are another highlight, particularly on Penguin Island. Observing them waddle ashore or swim in the clear waters is a unique experience. The area also supports a variety of seabirds, including ospreys, which can sometimes be spotted hunting. The guides on the tours are typically very knowledgeable about the local fauna, providing fascinating insights into their behavior and the ecosystem of the bay.
It's important to remember that these are wild animals, and while tours aim to maximize sightings, encounters are not guaranteed. The operators emphasize responsible wildlife viewing, ensuring minimal disturbance to the animals' natural behaviors. This commitment to conservation adds an extra layer of appreciation to the experience, allowing visitors to connect with nature in a meaningful way.
Choosing Your Ideal Tour
For a more comprehensive wildlife experience, consider tours that combine dolphin watching with a visit to Penguin Island. These longer excursions typically include a ferry ride to the island, a guided walk to see the little penguins, and opportunities to observe sea lions basking on the rocks. These tours can last half a day and offer a fantastic blend of marine and island wildlife encounters.
The choice of tour often depends on your interests and available time. If you're short on time, a focused dolphin cruise is ideal. If you want to maximize your wildlife sightings and explore the unique environment of Penguin Island, opt for the combined tour. Always check the tour duration, what's included, and the departure times when making your booking.
