What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Seven Shillings Beach is praised as a lovely, community-oriented harbour beach with safe swimming and convenient facilities like a cafe and restrooms. Visitors appreciate the picturesque views of moored boats and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, as well as the opportunity to see marine life. While generally well-regarded, some caution is advised regarding stormwater drains after heavy rain.
"There's a lovely sense of community here, locals walking their dogs, kids building sandcastles and just enough space to feel both connected and relaxed. If you visit during the week, you might even have the place almost to yourself."
Isabella Martinez
"Really good harbour beach, good facilities, shaded cafe, lockers, bathrooms, ramps from road down to the cafe, one flight of steps to the sand. Swimming is safe with enclosed pier with nets, and two floating pontoons!"
Minx Sleiman
"Sandy beach front to harbour. Small boats moored in the bay make a picturesque outlook. See pass the boats to Sydney Harbour Bridge. While the frontage is private property down to mean high water, quiet use is ok up to the delineated property walls. The swimming is good but not as pleasant as at Murray Rose harbour pool (through the open gate in the wire fence to the west). The east end has marine life, including baby stingrays. No dogs allowed.
Update: Large storm water drains feed onto the beach. These are very dangerous for children as the openings are wide and not closed off by steel bars. With heavy rains, the drains spew a lot of street gutter waste onto the beach."
