Today I attended the Year 12 Graduation at Mary MacKillop 💙 Gosh, it took me right back to that time eons ago! It was such a joy to celebrate these amazing young women as they step into the next chapter of their lives. 🌟 The pride and excitement in the room was contagious. When ABBA’s Slipping Through My Fingers played, it was a reminder of just how quickly time passes. Girls, the world is your oy...

If you’re living in Sydney, I strongly encourage you to visit St Mary MacKillop’s Chapel in North Sydney. It’s not just a beautiful space, it’s where Australia’s first saint is buried. As Catholics, it’s a powerful place to sit, reflect, and ask for her intercession. Whether you’re going through something or just need a quiet moment with God, this chapel could be your next comfort place. #catholic...

"This centre is a well presented and informative facility that has outlined the wonderfully positive life that Mary MacKillop had in South Australia.
We were welcomed by the friendly volunteer members of the centre team. Having a lovely chat about people we mutually knew no less! Small world indeed.
The displays are excellent as are the various items of memorabilia and the information panels. The two distinct sections (one for Saint Mary and the other for Fr. Tenison Woods), are well worth spending the time to read and learn of their varied and productive lives.
The restored school building is fascinating to walk through. My how education has changed...not a laptop in sight!
A top place to visit if one is in Penola."

"If, like me, you're not a person who is drawn to any particular religion, you might be tempted to give this place a miss. I nearly did and would have missed something rather special. Regardless of any views you may have of the faith aspect, Mary MacKillop was a true Australian hero, a person who made a huge difference, who faced challenges that would have broken most people but stayed true to her vision for bringing education to those who would otherwise have missed out.
This exhibition is extremely well put together, full of fascinating history and staffed by friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. Allow a good hour to soak up everything."

Perry Wheeler

"The story of Mary McKillop was so interesting. It followed her life starting in Scotland, then her early years of teaching when she arrived in Australia. One so dedicated. You need a bit of time to read the displays, but well worth it"
