What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lake Parramatta is praised as a beautiful, tranquil local escape with well-maintained grounds and family-friendly amenities. Visitors enjoy the scenic circuit walk, swimming opportunities, and picnic spots. However, some have experienced infections after swimming, raising concerns about water quality, and parking can be challenging during peak times.
"Pretty area, local, reminds me of Wattamola Beach a little with the surrounding trees and track. Small but very tranquil when not as busy on a weekday and non- school holiday. Water temperatures were a mix of warm and cool, however, after sticking around a while, one of us stepped on something in the shallows and foot became infected shortly thereafter.
One of our groups' eyes became infected too after swimming in the water, both requiring antibiotics. The doctor we saw seemed a little sceptical about the cleanliness of this little enclosed lake, esp with Parramattas waterways history. Not sure if other people have had similar experiences but I'd visit again due to this."

"The local council has done an amazing job not only cleaning up the area, but retaining the natural scenery whilst making it family friendly. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare during peak times, but the lake and surrounding walks make it worthwhile. Safe for kids of all ages with life guards on duty during peak times"

"Such a beautiful spot. The bush track is also a beautiful walk around the lake. Took me about 1.5 hours to complete the full trail. Would recommend to everyone and also a great location to bring your dogs or have a picnic"
