"I was on the water from dawn to midday today, the only boat on the water. Beautiful little lake with some nice secluded inlet bays. An excellent kayak launch point, better than the one on the other side near the dam wall - It's a nice paddle across (looks about 1km) but if you're an inexperienced kayaker, be careful of the winds that can whip up quickly, they can make it quite choppy in the middle"

"Highly recommended...
After three weeks of drizzling rain and hinterland fog, fine weather returned in time for Easter Friday 2024. So, we packed up some hot coffee and healthy snacks, drove down North Maleny Road and parked at the Baroon Pocket Dam Rest area.
We found a nice shoreline bench seat and enjoyed the view and its peace and quiet. After the recent rain, the dam is full and very scenic."
