"A nice park that's in a U-shape due to the church/cemetery in the middle. Most locals are probably referring to the grassy bit on the Camperdown side when they mention this park, but that's limiting it!
⭐ A sculpture from the Gadigal Wangal Wayfinding Project is here, on the Newtown side (marked on Maps)
🐶 Lots of pups here.
🚻 Toilets on the Camperdown side. They're pretty new, hand washing as well
💦 Multiple bubblers
🍭 Really nice playground, shaded and suits a variety of kids. A bit far from the toilets (that's a downside) but lovely.
🚶♀️ Easy walk from the heart of Newtown.
🚘 Street parking is an absolute nightmare. You'll have better luck on the Camperdown side. Avoid if possible."

Camperdown Memorial Rest Park is a large grassed area popular spot for picnics and casual ball games.
With a fenced playground and its leash off dog park
Originally the site of Camperdown Cemetery, all but a small walled-off section adjacent to St Stephen's Church was converted into a spacious public park in 1948.
The remaining portion of Camperdown Cemetery contains a patch of kangaroo grass (themeda australis), which is a rare remnant of the turpentine-ironbark forests that once covered the Inner West."
