What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Hannans North Tourist Mine for its immersive historical experience and engaging activities. The chance to see and climb into massive mining trucks, coupled with the fun of gold panning, makes it a standout attraction. The friendly staff and well-maintained historic village further enhance the visit, making it a highly recommended stop in Kalgoorlie.
"A lovely visit to historic open air historic mine museum. Well laid out so we could wander around and look at all the old homes, offices, machinery and facilities of life on the Goldfields. A map was provided so we could take our time to explore. Some of the attractions also had short videos to watch. The best experience was getting up close to the massive trucks that are used at the mines and being able to climb up into them which is something I've always wanted to do. The Chinese Garden of Remembrance , built in recognition of the Chinese miners and other immigrant prospectors who had come to this place was a surprisingly tranquil place in the midst of the mine site.
We were not aware of this attraction before coming to Kalgoorlie and only noticed the reference to it at the 'Super Pit' Limit. So definitely a must do if you're out this way."

"Yes, an easy 5 stars for Hannans Tourist Mine. Very well done!
The ladies were so helpful with enabling my dog to stay in their own kennel area. Shade, bed and water. This gave me good piece of mind. Thank you.
The huge displays are great, from the massive trucks, that you can sit in, to the huts that people used to live in. I really enjoyed these.
There are toilets around the place which are needed as you’ll spend over an hour here.
Then there’s the gold panning and gem streams. I found some nice little pieces of gold but had to get down to the bottom of the ponds to find it. And it’s mucky water! 😂
The shop is great with souvenirs and ice creams available. Well priced too!
Well worth the $18 entry and lovely staff, even the young ladies were super helpful and actually cared about their customers, great to see!"

"This was a great place to learn about the Gold mining history. We loved it, we got to see the trucks they use currently which are huge and also pan for gold which was lots of fun. Great fun places and so much to see."
