What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Rollasons Falls is a highly recommended destination for its stunning natural beauty and refreshing plunge pool. Visitors consistently praise the picturesque scenery and the invigorating swim opportunity. However, many note the challenging, steep track, particularly the return climb, which requires good fitness and sturdy footwear. The water's icy temperature is also a common point of mention.
"Worth the trek! The first half of the walk is fairly easy, but the second half gets steeper and rockier. If you’re not very active, your legs might feel a bit shaky near the end — but the view makes it all worthwhile. The water is great for a swim when the weather’s right, though there are a few slippery spots, so take care with kids. The return trip is much easier."

"Made it to Rollasons Falls — stunning spot! My son bravely dipped in… for about 3 seconds before the icy water sent him right back out. Swimming? Not today! Nature's way of saying 'refresh' a little too enthusiastically!"

"Be sure to wear some sturdy footwear with your bathers for this one, because to enjoy this stunning spot you'll have to walk almost 2km down a steep track to reach it! Some decent fitness and agility is needed here, our legs were shaking once we got down and we're used to this!
Before enjoying a dip in the very bracing waters of the plunge pool at the lower falls, turn left at the fork to view the upper falls. Here you can meander the creek a little and view a large plunge pool between the upper and lower falls.
Turning right at the fork takes you to the lower falls which is where you can swim. A large plunge pool funnels its way through the rock into a stream that can be equally enjoyed on a hot day.
The water is very cool but very clear. It's not as shallow as Lady Bath Falls, but I wouldn't recommend diving or jumping either. The rocks around the water are slippery and we didn't have any reception. The plunge pool is deep enough so young children or those with limited swimming abilities should be supervised.
During the hot summer season, it can be very busy: we visited later in the afternoon as most people were walking out. Be prepared for a tough hike out: it's a killer.
There are basic compost toilets near the carpark, so make sure you go before heading down to the falls. Once you make that walk out, there's no going back - it's too intense! Further up the road at the Gorge and Chalet are flushable toilets and running water.
This is a place you won't want to miss if visiting Bright and surrounds."
