What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the rich history and unique experiences offered by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust sites, particularly Cockatoo Island and the Defence of Sydney Tour. The knowledgeable volunteer guides are frequently highlighted as a major asset. However, some find the costs associated with parking and on-site dining to be quite high.
"We recently did the Defence of Sydney Tour at North Fort. Our guide, Sharon, was an absolute wealth of knowledge! She gave us the facts, figures and great insights into what occurred all those years ago. Sharon you are inspiring and should be commended on your tour especially given she's a volunteer. We loved it all and we will be back for other Harbour Trust tours!!"
Alison Boyd
"I attended a tunnels and gunners tour. One of the mindless volunteer guides made a disparaging remark about where we were from in Sydney. The other guide was very knowledgeable"
Steve Fuller
"We stayed overnight with our own tent... Absolutely awesome! We were right next to the water and had our own camp kitchen because no one was around. If you need to hire a tent or opt for the glamping option, it can be quite busy as the tents are spaced quite close to each other. The next day we did the audio tour... Great experience... Australia's own Alcatraz! Took us 3 hours, but could have spent more time. Can absolutely recommend to anyone!"
