"Our group of 13 visited Richard Hamilton Wines as part of a wine tour (Saturday the 30th of August), and were extremely disappointed with the experience. From the moment we arrived, the reception felt unwelcoming. Despite the cold weather, we were seated outside and given four wines to taste, with the promise of a red sparkling that was never brought out.
Even though we still supported the winery and purchased several bottles, what followed was truly unacceptable: Richard Hamilton contacted our next stop, Chalk Hill, and advised them not to host us, claiming we were “intoxicated.” If that had truly been the case, they should have refused service rather than happily taking our money. Instead, they allowed us to spend freely, only to tarnish our reputation afterwards.
The last winery of the day, Chapel Hill, welcomed us warmly, and even their staff commented that we were absolutely not intoxicated. The contrast in hospitality was shocking.
I would also like to add that we were not disturbance for other guests as a couple of them came out to even take pictures with us.
It is extremely disappointing that a winery of this profile would treat guests in such a disrespectful and contradictory manner. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Richard Hamilton Wines based on this experience."
