"Checked out Blochaus Bouldering in Marrickville and it was an awesome session. The place has a really cool vibe
heaps of space, good music, and a mix of routes that suit both beginners and people who actually know what they’re doing. The setting is creative and gets changed up often, so there’s always something new to try.
Staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole gym feels really well looked after. The mats are comfy, the holds are clean, and the atmosphere is super chill. Great spot to train, push yourself, or just have a fun climb with mates.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re into bouldering or want to give it a go"

"We went bouldering here and had a coffee. It’s a super chill place great for beginners as it has many levels. It also has a gym and a little cafe. The cubbies are super cute and handy.
It had shoe rentals as well. The gym has showers, calisthenics area, lots of options to boulder. Overall 10/10, loved their self-service options to waiver and check in."

"Big bouldering gym with lots of walls to climb. Can be a bit challenging for beginners but overall there is a good variety of climbs. The gym upstairs is also top notch."

Most indoor climbing gyms are accessible via public transport. Check the specific gym's website for directions via train, bus, or tram. Parking availability can vary, so public transport is often recommended for ease.

Absolutely! Many bouldering gyms are designed with beginners in mind, offering a wide range of easier routes (grades) and often have staff available to provide guidance.
Bouldering involves climbing shorter walls without ropes, using thick mats for safety. Rock climbing (or top-roping/lead climbing) uses ropes and harnesses to ascend taller walls.
You don't need to be super strong to start bouldering! It's more about technique, problem-solving, and balance. You'll build strength as you climb more.
🎫 🎫 Tickets & Entry
Day passes typically range from $20-$35 AUD, with discounts for students or off-peak hours. Many gyms offer membership options for frequent climbers. Shoe and chalk bag rentals are usually an additional fee.
While some gyms accept walk-ins, booking online in advance is often recommended, especially for peak times like weekends, to guarantee your spot and sometimes get a better price.
Opening hours vary, but most indoor climbing gyms are open from early morning to late evening, often 7 days a week. Weekend hours might differ slightly. Always check the gym's official website for the most current schedule.

Generally, there are no strict age restrictions for bouldering, but minors may need to be accompanied by an adult or have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Some gyms may have specific age limits for unsupervised climbing.
🎫 🧗♀️ Onsite Experience
Wear comfortable, athletic clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Avoid loose-fitting pants or shirts that could get caught on holds. Leggings or athletic shorts and a t-shirt are ideal.
A typical bouldering session can last anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on your energy levels and how much you want to climb. It's a great workout!

Dynos are dynamic moves where a climber jumps from one hold to another, often requiring significant power and coordination. They're exciting challenges!

Many modern bouldering gyms feature on-site cafes offering coffee, snacks, and light meals. It's a perfect spot to refuel or relax after your climb.
Policies vary, but generally, outside food and drinks are allowed in designated areas, not on the climbing mats. Check the gym's specific rules regarding outside food.

Yes, most gyms encourage visitors to capture their climbing moments. However, be mindful of other climbers and avoid obstructing pathways or taking photos of individuals without their consent.
Look for areas with interesting wall angles, dynamic climbs like dynos, or group shots of friends tackling a problem. The variety of routes offers many visually appealing opportunities.
