Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning coastal scenery and the ease of the Manly to Shelly Beach walk. The protected waters of Shelly Beach are a highlight for swimming and snorkeling, with many appreciating the accessible, flat path suitable for all ages. Some mention the potential for crowds on weekends and the presence of spiders, though generally considered harmless.

"A beautiful short 15 minute walking track from Manly Surf Club at the South end of Manly Beach to Shelly Beach in Manly, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. It’s the Shelly Beach Eco Structure Walk around Cabbage Tree Bay which hugs the coastline all the way to Shelly Beach. Located in Manly next to the Manly Surf Pavilion. It offers fantastic views of both Manly Beach and Shelly Beach. Keep an eye out for the little silver ornaments attached to the rock walls along the walkway. They are easy to miss but add to your experience. It’s a flat walk which is suitable for all ages and disabilities including wheelchairs. There’s a couple of shops and a cafe approximately halfway along and there’s also toilet and facilities. This is directly across from the Historic Fairy Bower Rockpool not far from the shops and cafe. You can get here by getting the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly Wharf and walking up to Manly Beach, turn right and follow to the Manly Surf Pavilion. After finishing the walk at Shelly Beach, if you are so inclined, you can further walk up to the Lookout on the Headland for amazing views of the Northern Beaches. Would highly recommend 😊"

"15 minutes from the main Manly Beach is a beautiful little walking track that can be done in 10 minutes or in 30, depending on how much you want to take in the views. Be careful, this is a wildlife preserve and you will see (mostly harmless but big) spiders. But if you are lucky, you can meet some Eastern Water Dragons too - so that kinda makes up for it."

James Feeney

"Shelly Beach, located just a short coastal walk from Manly beach is a hotspot for snorkelling. The whole ocean area from Manly beach (Cabbage Tree Bay) to Shelly is a protected ocean sanctuary and just lovely for snorkelling. Along the coastal walk you will pass the Bower restaurant and rock pool with its new and lovely toilet facilities. At Shelly you will find a popular cafeteria and a clean toilet and shower. Also along the coastal walk you will have the opportunity to spot the protected water dragon watching you calmly as it has not ever experienced any threatening species ever."
