"Magnetic Island is a great Place as a tourist attraction the walk up to the old fort is challenging and rewarding. Although we did not see any Koalas.
Being there on a Sunday was great as local markets were operating. Plenty of great places for coffee, eats etc. the locals were very friendly
Recommend a visit when in Townsville"

"The island boasts the biggest gathering of koala bears in the world, totalling some 800. There is ample opportunity for walks, drives, beach activities and places to stay as well.

There is so much to do, I suggest you plan to spend 2-3 nights on the island. We brought our own vehicle which was useful as we could then traverse the island at our own pace.

There are some breathtaking views at almost every point on the island. There are bars and restaurants as well as beaches and coves in which you can relax.

Sights, smells and sounds are captivating and while probably not unique to the island, are quite amazing. As I found throughout Australia, the people are friendly and welcoming."

Rijosh Sebastian

"This is a great park, beautiful scenery with beaches, wildlife , the old coastal WWII military fortifications and hiking/trekking trails. Only a short bus ride from Nellys Bay ferry terminal to begin your adventure!"
