What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Memory Cove is lauded for its breathtaking white sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters, making it a paradise for swimmers and beach lovers. The challenging 4WD access is a significant hurdle but ultimately rewards visitors with a pristine, less crowded experience. The spectacular night sky is a major highlight for those who camp overnight. However, the rugged track and the presence of flies, particularly at the basic toilet facilities, are noted drawbacks.
"Beautiful white sand and Turquoise water. Safe for swimming. Long drop toilets with great private bays for free camping. Drive there is rugged, ONLY 4WD accessible. 19km from gate approx 1hr. But, well worth the effort. Need to book thru Port Lincoln info centre and get a key for the entrance gate. Only set amount of cars per day allowed. A must for the bucket list!"

"Worth it only if you get to book for a few days. Track in was so rocky that I would not recommend this place to anyone who is not into 4WD. The campsite was okay if you don’t mind hundreds of flies in the long drop toilet (visited last Xmas). Beach was great but again, wouldn’t recommend if you’re only staying for one night like we did. The night starry sky was amazing though, one of the best I’ve ever seen!"

"Did a day trip to Memory cove 9 May 2024. You need a 4WD and to get an access key from Port Lincoln Visitors Centre. Road in was not as rough as I expected. Did reduce tyre pressures to 30PSI. Scenery is fabulous. Water is crystal clear, if a bit cold. Saw a dolphin in close to the beach and a Pelican while I was swimming. Walk out to the point from the right side of the bay was very enjoyable. 5 camping spots that are good."
