What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Everglades House & Gardens is praised as a beautiful and well-maintained heritage site, offering a peaceful escape with its Art Deco architecture and stunning terraced gardens. Visitors enjoy the seasonal blooms, the tranquil grotto, and the on-site tea room, though some find the garden access challenging and the tea room environment intimidating at times.
"Managed by the national trust and operated by volunteers, a nice relaxing hideaway tonvisit on weekends. There is an entry fee to support upkeep and the grounds and buildings are well kept. Best time to go is spring. $17/adult or a family pass for $40. You can spend an hour or two there and a converted squash court has an art gallery that hosts local artists every few weeks. Volunteers are helpful and approachable"

"The tearooms are lovely and although the menu is limited, our toasties were delicious. The Art Deco house, while not large, is well worth the visit. The views from the bedrooms are amazing and the bathrooms quite something. The beautiful gardens were full of azaleas and rhododendrons. My only complaint would be that it is far from accessible for those with mobility needs. The disabled carspaces are no wider than the normal ones and there is a steep climb up from them. There are virtually no paths, other than the driveway for people who have difficulty with stairs, let alone for those in a wheelchair. This is a shame, because with a little thought I am sure this could be altered with no detrimental effects."

"This is a beautiful venue to visit, the entry fee is reasonable. I have visited a few times over the last 5 years. This time I actually was able to visit in spring which didn’t disappoint! I have visited in all seasons, it’s always lovely. One thing - it certainly helps if there’s good weather! There are facilities and food & drinks available on site as well. Definitely worth visiting."
