Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Kuranda for its stunning scenic journeys on the railway and Skyrail, and the charming rainforest village atmosphere with its vibrant markets. However, some feel it can be overly touristy with many activities costing extra, and that the natural rainforest experience might be less immersive than expected for the price.
"A lovely village in the world heritage listed rainforest out of Cairns. You can drive, take the skyrail or vintage train to kuranda. Lots of interesting little shops to browse, also you can visit Birdworld, the Butterfly Sanctuary and the Koala park. We'll worth a visit."

"This really is a 'must do' for visitors to the Cairns area. My 85 year old Mum has mobility issues and gets tired very easily, so we opted to drive ourselves, but we went down to the station for Devonshire tea. There's a lift, so it's accessible. It's like stepping back in time. We all loved it, but Mum especially.!"

"Kuranda village has a scenic railway and sky rail. So usually people go one way in each. There will be few hours to spend in the village. There are quite a few activities, food and shopping options in the village. There are activities like butterfly Park, koala park and rainforest park. There is quite a range of food from different cuisine. This village is accessible by road as well, but via road you will miss the awesome rain forest and waterfall views. There are public toilets."
